Products come and go over time and we try and find some very interesting ones to share with you. We came across one which will hold your phone up in the air while charging it. It is that kind of a product that we find as something different from all the others out in the market. The Une Bobine charging stand has taken the normal charging cable and wrapped wire around it to make it stiff. With that, you can bend it into just about any shape that you would like to see it in.
The Une Bobine comes from Fuse Chicken and makes one wonder where they came up with names like that. Well, Une Bobine translated from French means "coil", so that is where it came from. The 24 inch long cable has been stiffened with a metal cover that is stiff and flexible at the same time. You coil the cable to get it into the necessary shape to support your smart phone. Though the heavier the phone, the more of a coil will be necessary to support it in the air. There is going to be a limit as to just how much weight this can support.
Having your phone in the air while charging it has some great value. But, if you need to get a stand for your phone while taking pictures, this will work for you in that need. And if you think the 24 inch cable is too long, they are offering one that is only 12 inches long. So, you get choices as to which one is going to meet your needs.
There are several reported issues with using the Une Bobine charging cable and stand. The first one may not appear obvious to everyone. If you have a case, you are more than likely going to have to remove it before connecting to the Une Bobine. The other reported issue requires a balancing act to keep the phone upright after twisting the cable into a position that will hold the phone upright. This is not going to work in a car as turns, stops, etc. are going to change the balance and the phone is going to topple over.
You can pick up your own Une Bobine cable from Amazon for Android phones for $29.95. They also have the iPhone version for sale and both versions are for the 24 inch charging cable.
Here is a video showing how to connect the Une Bobine cable up to the iPhone 5 with the Lightning adapter.
