LIFEBike - Chainless, Electric Bike With Unique Design

LIFEBikeIn the world of bikes, the idea of more people using them to get around, especially to work, is a goal we should all be considering. And with a growing number of electric bikes, it attracts a far broader audience in looking at what they have to offer. Putting people on a bike and out of their car, even just 1 day a week, will go a long ways to helping the environment. This year has seen a number of new electric bikes showing up and they are continuing. The latest one that we have come across is the Revelo LIFEBike and has a very unique design to it.

The Revelo LIFEBike is moving forward with an expected fall release of the strange looking bike to a select group of people as a limited edition. This is all part of the Indiegogo funding campaign which is currently going on. As you can see, the design has moved the pedals from the normal location to the front wheel. When in pedal mode, there is no chain associated with this and you get direct drive while pedaling. That is not the primary purpose as powering the LIFEBike as an electric bike is the goal.

The Lightweight Intelligent Flexible Electric (LIFE) Bike has a smaller (16 inch) rear wheel versus the larger (20 inch) front wheel. And the overall length of the LIFEBike is just under 45 inches making this appear to be an awkward size. The weight is about the same as a regular bike coming in at just over 33 pounds. But if you watch the video below, this makes it a great size for getting around and gives you the ability to take it inside with ease. Its smaller size makes it much easier to navigate around traffic and other obstacles.

The LIFEBike lets you travel a distance of about 19 miles and at a speed of about 15 mph. If you pedal at the same time, you can go faster and longer as a result. All of this is powered by 250 watt electric motor and the 36 volt 10 mAh lithium battery. You can charge up a completely drained battery on the LIFEBike in about 4 hours. The LIFEBike will cost less than $2,000 when it is available to the public. How much less is something you will have to wait until the end of the year to find out.

But, if you want to lock in your LIFEBike now, your can contribute $1,500 for a November delivery (shipping extra). If you want to be one of the first 20 to get a limited edition, you can contribute $1,800 for a September delivery plus shipping. If you are interested in getting one, your can go to the LIFEBike contributions page so that you know your LIFEBike is coming.
