Gaming has become a huge area of the market as everything moves to being portable. And our KickStarter product this week is GameStick. This particular one has the distinction of surpassing their goal for funding in 30 hours. The goal was $100,000 and the numbers continue to rise with 27 days left for people to pledge money to this project. They are currently over $171,000 as I write this. And that number is continuing to grow.
The GameStick project will create an Android OS gaming device in the form of a game controller which will connect via Bluetooth to the TV. The connection to the TV is an HDMI drive which looks very much like a standard USB drive. This will plug into the HDMI slot on the TV. But, this is not something which provides all the games on what will be delivered.
This whole design is to allow you to purchase games at a low cost and play them on your TV. And with the portability of the GameStick, you can take them with you to other locations. The whole design is wide open for developers who are creating Android games. And with an included game controller, you have everything that you need for playing great Android games.
The current plans for the project are to begin delivery in March this year to all those who backed the project. By April, they expect to be selling the GameStick to the general public and with the growing interest in games, this one will be immensely popular.
