We all have cables to connect our smart phone to a power source whether that be a power outlet or a USB connection. Our goal is to make sure that we do not get the dreaded low battery indicator on our phones. And that is very important. Some of us carry around power battery chargers so that we can plug our phone into one when there is no other power source. But each of these are separate from each other and it would be great to have a single device to do both activities. There is one coming called the Bolt which acts as both a charger for your smart phone and a portable battery charger for when you are not near a power source.

This week's KickStart project is the Bolt from Fluxmob. While the name Bolt may be confused with other things, its purpose will not. It comes with a built in plug to keep it charged up in a power outlet. Unlike so many other portable battery chargers, this is not limited to a USB slot to charge up the internal battery. So, while the Bolt is plugged into the wall charging up your smart phone, it is also charging up the battery.

It is small enough to take with you with a size of 2.75 by 1.33 by 1.10 inches. The wall plug folds up inside the Bolt so that it is not sticking out, making it easier to carry. Since you are using it to charge your smart phone, it is always charged up and ready to go. The Bolt comes with 3000 mAh battery which will be able to charge up just about any smart phone when you are in need.

The Bolt is estimated to be shipped in October and you still have time to get one as part of the KickStarter campaign. On the contributions page for an amount of $50 or more, you will be part of the group that gets the first shipments of the Bolt. And you get to pick your own color along with selecting the charging cable that works with your phone.
