We're talking about the Communications Act (http://www.fcc.gov/Reports/1934new.pdf), and Capitol Hill leaders say it's time to "develop proposals" to update the law. "As the first step, they will invite stakeholders to participate in a series of bipartisan, issue-focused meetings beginning in June," the announcemen (http://commerce.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=PressReleases&ContentRecord...)t notes. "A list of topics for discussion and details about this process will be forthcoming." The "they" is the Big Four: Sen. John Rockefeller (D-WV), Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-CA), Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), and Rep. Rick Boucher (D-VA)รข"all chairs of the key telecom-related committees in Congress. What, you ask, do these guys have in mind? Why, you wonder, are they announcing this now?
